About Us
Russells was established in 1946 and Lesley and Richard Phillips took over in 1996.
The total transformation of russells has been a gradual proccess that has seen the centre transformed into a home and garden destination.
Being a family run business we are able to source unique items of furniture and unusual giftware that cannot be found in the large superstores.
The pinnacle of our achievement has been our contemporary licensed Restaurant which has been acknowledged as a leader in daytime dining.
The warm welcome that all visitors receive from our staff creates an ambience rarely found today, the feedback about our friendly customer service at Russells makes us very proud, this has meant that over the years many of our customers have become our friends.
We have always been mad about wildlife so we were honoured to be awarded Chichester District Councils Green Business of the year award in 2004 followed by being chosen as finalists in the SEEDA sustainable business awards (the only Chichester business to ever receive this accolade)then most recently we were highly commended in the Chichester Observers green business awards and winners of the Chichester district council and disabled go awards "retailer of the year"
We have also been awarded Chichester councils heartbeat award 3 times for healthy menu choices, presenting a clean kitchen and being completely smoke free!
We have several charities close to our hearts: St Wilfrids hospice - we hold monthly coffee mornings to raise vital funds for all the amazing work they do, usually raising over £100 each month. Brent lodge wildlife hospital - we have held several events and collections for them and our £2000 prize money from our green award went a long way to help the animals.
We also support the great work of Sussex snowdrop trust, helping children with life threatening illness and their families. Being at the heart of our small rural community we also support our local schools, play schools and village church.
Our work is not done, we continually strive to improve, forever looking for new ideas and we never forget that it is our customers who keep us going.

"KEEP SUNDAY SPECIAL is something we also do. We have a small family run business also in Wittering and do not open on Sundays. Well done for not doing something that most small business are forced into doing at the loss of valuable family time."

"We love coming to Russells all year round but at Christmas time its something else! Simply magical and sure to inject us with that special festive feeling. The food is outstanding - how such simple food can be made to taste so delicious is beyond us. Well done to you all."

"Your cakes are second to none locally and we enjoy the fresh sandwiches and chunky bread too! Our family loves to wander around the furniture and usually end up buying an item or two. Thank you for giving us locals somewhere to enjoy so much. The Jack Family"
